Plagiarism policy
The journal Eminak publishes only original papers which are the result of creative and research work of an author or the collective of authors.
The journal editorial board upholds the principles of academic integrity and reserves the rights to deny the publication should the text have the following:
- plagiarism - appropriation of another person’s words, ideas, methods, results, or artwork as one’s own (i.e., without appropriate citation, usage of illustrations without specifying the sources, etc.);
- self-plagiarism (repurposing of one’s own words, ideas, methods, results, or artwork without appropriate citation);
- translation plagiarism (repurposing of the words, ideas, methods, results, or artwork of a work written in a foreign language without appropriate citation);
- incorrect sources or incomplete bibliography preventing from their identification;
- data and research results falsification.
The use of AI
- Generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies such as ChatGPT are not considered appropriate tools for content creation or research design. However, AI can be used for language editing to improve the readability and language of the manuscript.
- All uses of AI in research, writing, reviewing, or publishing must be disclosed explicitly to ensure clarity about its role.
- The responsibility for the integrity of the content lies with the authors, irrespective of AI involvement.
- Authors must disclose the use of AI tools.
- Authors must ensure that AI-generated content does not include plagiarized material and is adequately verified for accuracy.
- The policies on AI technologies follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) position statement on using AI and AI-assisted technologies. Cope clearly states that ‘authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics’.
Editorial policy regarding plagiarism and the use of artificial intelligence
- The Editor-in-Сhief should not allow the article submitted to be published if there is a sufficient reason that it is plagiarism or unethical use of artificial intelligence.
- If a reviewer suspects authorship plagiarism or uncorrectly use of AI, or falsification of data, he/she should contact the editorial board with a proposal to review the author’s article collectively.
- When preparing an article for printing, it should be verified by the following software: StrikePlagiarism (https://strikeplagiarism.com). In the event of significant percentages, namely: plagiarism (more than 5%), use of artificial intelligence (more than 20%), such a manuscript is returned to the author without the possibility of resubmission.
